Napa, California, December 7, 2009: For the 24th year, Cave Music is here to warm the winter days. The Improvisator is back in the wine caves, with Carols In The Caves and Cave Of The Drums on his marvelous instruments. Ancient nature resonates as dulcimers, flutes, psalteries, drums, bells and others from distant times and places reverberate underground in a veritable sound spa for the mind.

All tickets are $45, with wine available for purchase. (A portion of this season's Cave Of The Drums ticket sales will benefit the Arts Council of Napa Valley.) All seating is general admission. Shows last two hours; doors open one hour before. In order for adults to enjoy the acoustics, children must be over the age of ten. Maps and directions are mailed with tickets and are posted online.

This annual yuletide rite is a relaxing balm for trying times, combining ancient tradition and artistic creativity. Carols In The Caves is a musical quest for seasonal simplicity. The Improvisator's interpretations of age-old carols on ancient folkloric instruments are aided by the audience's participation as angel choir. Cave Of The Drums boldly celebrates the New Year with reverberating percussion, plus occasional delicate sounds and other surprises. Each weekend has its own distinct mood; no two shows are ever alike; an informal spirit of sharing is the common thread.
